Bruxism
Bruxism is the grinding, clenching, or gnashing of teeth at night. As a result, they become worn down, and in more severe cases, the overall bite may be disrupted or a condition called TMD (chronic joint pain) may develop.

Symptoms characteristic of bruxism are:
- Pain from heat and cold
- Joint pain (even cracking, especially in the morning after sleeping)
- Pain in the neck, chewing muscles, and ears
Causes of bruxism can include stress, fear, difficulties we face, and even uncomfortable fillings, bridges, or dentures. You may not be aware that you grind your teeth at night, and your loved ones may inform you of this.
If you have this problem, consult a dentist and a psychologist (if the problems are of this nature). The most effective treatment method is the use of a bruxism splint. An impression is taken of both jaws and splints are made from soft plastic in a dental laboratory. They are worn at night during sleep, fixing the bite slightly and preventing tooth movement and changes in muscle tone.
