How can we help our child overcome their fear of the dentist?

Your child is afraid of the dentist and does not want to visit the office for a checkup, or you are about to take your little one for the first time. We will help you with a few proven tips to prepare your child to overcome their fear of the dentist:
- Don’t try to mislead your child. Today’s children watch television, use the Internet, and are aware of many things. Just explain briefly and in a way that is accessible to them where you are going and what will happen in the office.
- Be a good role model. If you have a habit of visiting the dentist regularly, your child will follow your example and pluck up the courage to go. You can take them with you on one of your visits to the dentist. Children imitate and emulate adults, and they will even find it interesting.
- Choose a good dentist who is competent and treats children with love.
- Ask your child what worries them about visiting the doctor’s office and explain again what will happen there.
- In the office, you can hug them, sit together on the dentist’s chair for any of the procedures while your little one relaxes and even plays with the doctor’s equipment.
- You can choose one of the days off so that you are not influenced by comments, opinions, or ridicule during the school day.
